    all you need to do …
    all you need to do to stop cydia from crashing is jailbreak it again (even if it is currently jailbroken).
    i.e. if you used spirit, run it again and plug your ipod in. Click jailbreak and wait. The same thing that happened when you first jailbroke it should happen. Now try running cydia again.
    I’m not sure if it works 100% but it worked for me. :)

    ok i found the best way to fix cydia its the most fastest way to fix it (turn off the ipod the turn it back on and it should work atlest mine did)

    Waste of time for …
    Waste of time for me. Every video I watch is the same shit…I have a 3GS and Cydia crashes in seconds. Nobody can show on a video how to fix the problem….Smart guys tell me to go to Cydia and download iFILE…how the em I gonna do it if I cant acces to Cydia. iFILE doesnt even exist on appstore or intallous. I did try to conect by using SSH and after I type the the IP ans password..it rejects it…I dont know if I need an app on my iphone to conect it to the computer via SSH …?????

    The error you …
    The error you received from apt was telling you that you don’t have adequate permissions to run it. Running apt as root will be where any real errors reveal themselves.

    In other words, this error is keeping apt from EVEN GETTING to any point where it can tell you what’s wrong.
