@fchsballa I feel like the Evo and Droid X are just too big. 4.3 inch screens are too big imo. I think the 3.7 – 4.0 hit the sweet spot. While the iPhone’s 3.5 is fine to many people, once you get accustomed to a 3.7-4.0 inch screen, the 3.5 looks small in comparison. However give it up to Apple for making a superior keyboard experience on the smaller sized screen. The Aria is nice, but for people with bigger hands, the 3.2 inch screen might get a little frustrating for texting or long emails.

@gadgetexperts Super AMOLED certainly fixes that. Living in LA and being in the sun all year round, I can attest that the Galaxy S is spectacular in direct sunlight. I will give the edge to the Captivate over the Vibrant though, because the Vibrant is a finger print magnet while the Captivate seems to be a bit more finger print proof. Both are phenominal devices though.

@gadgetexperts That’s because the iPhone OS is a bunch of icons on a grid. It doesn’t do much else. You click on the grid-icon and it takes you to said app. There are no widgets or many other functional live capabilities and/or options on iOS, and it doesn’t have nearly, not even close to the amount of customization the Android does. While I think Android OS has a ways to go, the skies the limit, and the ideas are endless. iOS is too simple once you’ve converted to a high end Android device.

Both are great phones, I personally own a Galaxy S Vibrant, but I played around with the Droid X and it’s a phenominal device. Kudos to Android for literally taking the smart phone industry by storm. They’re truly sticking it to Apple, something nobody thought was possibly just as easy as last year.

Megapixels dont matter. its the quality of the pixels itself. just cuz its more doesnt mean its a better camera.

hey i upgrade in october… and its kinda a battle between samsung fascinate and droid x… i want a phone with more personalization and a great camera/video capture. i realize the fascinate has a 5mp cam and the droid x has a 8mp cam… but to me i dont see much diffrence in the comparison between the iphone and droid x aside from sounds quality.

@flykidj95 Yeah right, Evo’s 65k color producting screen pails in comparison to the super AMOLED 16m color Galaxy S gorgeous screen. The Evo has the useless front facing camera and the flash on the rear camera, which if you’re not a big photo taker, is useless imo. Besides, night mode is awesome in darkness.

Great job, but i think the purpose of “the quick brown fox…” is to leave the errors in the typing to see the difficulty in the keyboard/touchscreen. Nice review though.
